Freeride Fundamentals
Intro/ beginner level instruction on gear, safety equipment and safe travel strategies, and intro to group planning and gathering forecasted data.

Avy Savvy
Prep course for those looking to begin certification level avalanche training with AIARE or A3. Intro to group leader skills in the planning stage and learn the fundamentals of field observations and snowpack data collection.

Advanced Alpine Travel
An apex course that safely tests your knowledge and abilities to prepare, plan, ride and debrief for a successful mountain objective. You will be coached throughout the process while our professional guide team manages the risks to provide a safe learning environment.

Private BC Guide - ski/split
A fully customized private day for you or your group in the backcountry with one of our professional freeride guides. Start the morning off with a safety meeting and forecast briefing while dialing in the riding zone we will be travelling in. Aimed to focus on your riding and mountain goals from technical riding skills, avalanche awareness to good old freeriding; exploring new zones.

Powder Pro Lab specializes in backcountry adventure guiding, avalanche awareness training, and backcountry safety classes for snowmobilers, skiers, and snowboarders. We offer AIARE avalanche courses, backcountry fundamentals, and skills development programs tailored to your needs. Additionally, Powder Pro Lab also offers customized private backcountry education experiences.

Powder Pro Lab operates by a U.S. Forest Service Special Use Permit in the San Isabel National Forest. Our backcountry snowmobile skills classes, snowmobile avalanche safety classes, and AIARE hybrid backcountry access classes are located outside of Leadville, CO and Buena Vista, CO. Courses may be held on Cottonwood Pass, Tin Cup Pass or in the Chalk Creek Area.

Essential safety gear is provided, including beacon, shovel, and probe. Participants will need to provide their own personal gear such as skis, splitboards, skins, snowboards, snowmobiles and appropriate winter clothing.
